UTAKE COFFEE LTD is an innovative company specializing in Coffee Quality and Marketing Consultancy and Development Management. The company works to promote better understanding of these practices through training, mentoring and consultancy. We are also licenced Coffee Dealers which allows us to Import, Export and Roast coffees from all coffee producing origins, since mid 2018.

UTAKE Coffee owns a state of the art Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) certified Premier Teaching Campus (PTC) and Laboratory, in the outskirts of Nairobi. This laboratory allows it to hold all levels of coffee quality training courses for coffee stakeholders from around Africa and the world, and perform Quality analysis for coffees from around the world. It is also the first in Africa to have a Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) Q instructor in-house as well as an SCA trainer, who has carried out courses around the world since 2013. In 2018 for example, we hosted in-house, and travelled to train, participants from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, The Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi, South Africa, Swaziland, South Korea, ChinaThe Netherlands, Germany and the United States.

The lead consultant is a specialist for Quality (Q) in both Arabica and Robusta coffee varieties and the first certified Q-Instructor in Africa with the Coffee Quality Institute, which is world renown for training on Coffee Quality and Standards. She has also been Head Judge for national, regional and international coffee quality competitions in several African countries, China and in the Philippines, which provides a wide scope of knowledge in the existing quality assessment models both for the sake of the producers as well as consuming side of the coffee value chain. She is well versed in working with Small Producer Organizations (SPOs), in addition to possessing a good understanding of the Coffee supply chain in Africa and the key markets in Europe, the US and Japan. She also sits on the Specialty Coffee Association Board of Directors.
